Artist Statement     This formation in Sedona, AZ in known as Cathedral Rock, and it is one of the most photographed places in Sedona. I usually paint the lesser known more remote formations but, I've had so many requests to paint this one I finally decided to do it. I worked hard at the composition so that is would be different from anything else I've seen and I think my lead - in helps accomplish this goal. The trees also have a very nice but subtle variety of colors and textures. The water has a lot going on but it somehow ties the whole piece together. I'm very happy with the result.
