Artist Statement     The Battle of Britain was fought over Shoreham, a charming and seemingly untouched little village in Kent, England. While hiking through the hills I saw the real England through this quaint town, preserved in all its rich culture and charm, worth fighting for at any cost. I was enchanted by its sense of continuous being in spite of the war that must have raged in the skies above. I wanted Shoreham to seem like the storybook village. Thus, the vibrant colors and undetailed buildings; a town healthy and alive. The background fades to cooler, more sober colors signifying a darker past.
