Artist Statement     My passion for light is the inspiration that drives me to paint. For me, it is the quality of light that makes any subject exciting or dull. The subjects that I paint are chosen specifically for their aesthetic beauty, and for the way they react to dramatic lighting. The subject reacts to the light, becoming an eloquent symbol through which the idea of the sun is expressed. The medium that I render my subjects in is transparent watercolor. It is considered to be the most difficult and challenging of all the visual art mediums, but I find it ideally suited for capturing transparent veils of light and luminous atmosphere.
