Artist Statement     This piece is part of a series I have been working on called: Drawings from the Water’s Edge. Interior/Exterior: The Rocks on Isle au Haut is my memory of a rock formation I found when hiking the shore on Isle au Haut, Maine. On part of the island that is Acadia National Park, I discovered rocks carved by glaciers, water, and time. Their crevices were exact, sharp, and beautiful. In one area, a small space where a piece of the rock had come loose and was long gone now held a stone of a completely different texture, smooth and welcoming. Probably thrown there by a wave, the stone presented another example of perfect juxtaposition by nature-the best artist.
