Vibrantly celebrating life force through pastels "en plein air" at a single location over time, my paintings are enlivened by the unpainted interactions with curious green herons, complaining mammals and persistent attempts to use me as wildlife furniture, food, and home. I'm part of the life system, they the painting process. Each color and mark describes life at that spot in that moment. The greater whole that humans are a part of unfolds in an ordinary way.
