This work is from a series based on the Tall Ships Maritime Festival in Bay City Michigan. The name “Five Pins” is supposed to represent the five belay pins visible on the deck rail. When I look at this work now (month’s later) I still find myself searching for some miniscule little rope fray or some other errant thread, that at the time, I thought was so important to the overall effectiveness of the composition.
